PrefChem is a petrochemical company based in Pengerang, Johor, Malaysia, that produces a wide range of chemicals and polymers used in various industries. PrefChem operates a large integrated petrochemical complex in Pengerang, which produces a wide range of chemicals and polymers used in various industries, including automotive, construction, and packaging.

Overview

PrefChem want to establish a website redesign to serves as a platform for communicating its products and services to potential customers, as well as for providing information about the company's operations and values. This project took 6 month to complete and the whole project is conducted completely online.

Role:

I work as the UI/UX designer and the motion graphic designer in a team of a project manager and a full-stack developer. I lay the foundation of the designs and effectively communicates with the person in charge from the client side on anything related to design matters.

Solution

To address these issues, we proposed a redesign of the PrefChem website that focused on improving user experience and accessibility. The key goals of the redesign were to:

  • Simplify navigation: The new design features a clear and intuitive navigation system that is easy to use and understand
  • Enhance branding: The new design incorporates the company's branding more prominently, using consistent colors and typography throughout the site
  • Improve responsiveness: The new design accommodate multiple resolutions so that the design and usability won't be compromised while maintaining its professionalism

UX Research

The redesign process consisted of several stages, including:

  1. Research: We conducted a thorough analysis of the existing website to identify the key issues and pain points for users. We also researched best practices in UI/UX design and accessibility guidelines
  2. Wireframing: Based on our research, we created wireframes for the new design, focusing on a clear and simple navigation system, consistent branding, and accessibility
  3. Prototyping: We created interactive prototypes of the new design to test its usability and accessibility with users. We incorporated feedback from user testing into the design
  4. Visual design: We developed a visual design system for the new website, incorporating the company's branding and using a high-contrast color scheme for improved accessibility
  5. Development: We developed the new website using modern web development tools and frameworks, ensuring it was optimized for speed and performance
